Subjectively speaking, the reception sensitivity is not as good as Quansheng, but the speaker sound quality is very good, so it beats Quansheng. The Baofeng UV5rm has a high power transmission power of about 8.5 watts, a medium power of about 5 watts, and a low power of about 1.5 watts on the U-segment. The power of the V-segment can reach about 10 watts. It should be noted that the UV5RM monitor cannot see its displayed content after the backlight is turned off. If illuminated with a strong flashlight, the handwriting can be seen. And the backlight time is very short, about three seconds without operation will turn off. Compared to screens from Quansheng or old models, this experience is very poor.
Based on the above and considering the price, if there is no demand for high-power and frequency scrambling functions, I would recommend the Quansheng K5 or K6 (I have not tried the K6, but its solution is exactly the same as the K5, and the theoretical performance should also be consistent). By the way, the UV5RM flashlight is the brightest, and compared to the other two models, it has lenses and a light bowl, which provides better lighting effect, but neither is as good as the mobile flashlight function.
