Welcome to use the tb-box produced by cqham. This product is a supporting accessory designed for ft-817nd and ft-818nd low-power radios (hereinafter referred to as 8×7 series radios) produced by Yaesu company. This accessory provides two functions: mobile power supply and antenna tuning, which can increase the power consumption of the radio station, extend the outdoor use time of the radio station, and quickly complete the deployment of the communication system. The adaptive leather case can protect the radio station and tb-box, and the side antenna pocket can be easily inserted into various portable antennas.

Battery function：

Six 3400 MAH 3.7V 18650 flat head lithium batteries are installed in the tb-box, which can provide 6.8ah additional power for the 8×7 series radio station, which can meet the needs of outdoor use for a whole day. The charging time is about 7 hours.

Antenna tuning function：

The front of tb-box is equipped with “Z” antenna tuner, which can withstand 15W. The tuning range is 3.5-52mhz.

Preparation before use：

This product needs six 3.7V, 18650 flat head lithium batteries. Unscrewing the four high foot screws at the bottom of tb-box can pull out the internal U-shaped board. There are six 18650 battery cells on the board. According to the positive and negative directions marked on the battery tank, install six 3.7V 18650 flat head lithium batteries in turn. After that, cover the rear cover plate and tighten the high foot screw. Use 12.6V lithium battery charger to charge the tb-box, and prepare to use after full charging.

The prepared tb-box is placed on the shell of 8×7 series radio station. Four magnets are used at the bottom of tb-box, which can be firmly attached to the radio. Connect the BNC dual head RF cable to the BNC socket on the front of the radio station and the “TX” BNC socket on the front of the TB box. Connect the dc5.5 socket of the DC double head power line to the tb-box power socket, and connect the dc4.0 plug on the other end to the radio power base. Then place the radio station and tb-box upright on the desktop or on the ground, and connect the 1.4m telescopic antenna to the “ant” BNC socket on the front of tb-box, ready to use.

Use of TB-BOX After connecting the TB-BOX with the 8X7 series radio according to the above steps, turn on the radio power switch, press and hold the F key, enter the “07 ANTENNA” option in the menu, and set it to “FRONT” to use the front antenna base. Select the desired frequency, place the two small knobs (ANTENNA knob and TRANSMITTER knob for adjusting the capacitance) at position “1”, and then roughly adjust the 12-level inductance knob, and the 12-level band switch from the AL position. Note that at this time, observe the equipment receiving noise and select the gear with the largest noise. Then adjust the small capacitance knob on the far right. At this time, the radio station uses FM, AM, cw to transmit, and observe the standing wave ratio display of the 8×7 series radio station. If the lowest standing wave ratio is greater than 1.5, increase the left small capacitance knob (ANTENNA knob) step by step, and then repeat the adjustment On the right side of the small capacitance knob (TRANSMITTER knob), adjust the standing wave ratio to the minimum for normal use.
